What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a gentle and effective form of healing that
has been used successfully for over 200 years.
How does Homeopathy work?
The principle of homeopathy is that "like cures like". A substance
that produces symptoms in a well person can be used in minute doses to
help a sick person with similar symptoms.
The remedies work by stimulating the natural healing power of the body
to bring about health and well-being.
What are homeopathic remedies?
Homeopathic remedies are "potentised energy medicine", sourced
mainly from the plant, mineral and animal kingdom.
They are administered in the form of soluble pills or as a liquid
What if I am on medication?
Homeopathy is an integrated medicine and can be used safely alongside conventional
treatment. The remedies have no toxic side effects and .are non-addictive.
What can Homeopathy treat?
Homeopathy works on many levels; emotional, mental and physical, looking
at the person as a whole rather than just at the disease with which they
have been labelled. It is suitable for all ages, from people with acute
illness to those with chronic, long lasting complaints e.g: Babies and
childhood ailments, coughs, colds and ‘flu, pregnancy, menstrual
and menopausal problems, digestive disorders, allergies, skin complaints
and emotional issues from anxiety to depression.
Physical symptoms often develop a few months after an emotional upset e.g. bereavement, an accident, job loss etc. Once the original cause of the symptoms has been treated homeopathically, and the immune system successfully restored, the physical symptoms can begin to heal
How long will treatment take?
It is not possible to say how many consultations will be needed to restore
health, as each persons case is unique. Generally it depends on the
nature of the complaint and how long it has been present.
What happens in a consultation?
The initial consultation lasts 90 minutes to two hours and will give
you the opportunity to discuss all aspects of your physical and emotional
health. You will also have time to discuss any worries or fears you may
have and wish to talk about. At the end of the consultation I will select
a remedy that most matches your symptoms. This will be given to you at
the time or sent to you by post within a couple of days.
What happens in a follow-up appointment?
Follow-up consultations last 45 minutes and are generally arranged every
2-4 weeks.
During these appointments we can discuss how you are progressing and
how you have reacted to your remedy.
