Nutritional advice is available from many sources here at the practice. Most of the practitioners here have some training and interest in nutrition but this is a specialisation for two of our practitioners:
Helen Mayors – who uses Applied Kinesiology as a diagnostic medium.
Julie Parsons – who uses an Asyra machine to highlight nutritional problems and deficiencies.
More details follow regarding each of these practitioners personal views on the diagnosis and treatment of nutritional problems.

NUTRITION - navigating the maze of "mis-information"
Food, whether in relation to it's production/farming, culture and lifestyle or Health and Nutrition is seldom
out of the news these days. At the same time ironically, so much ill health in the UK is directly attributable
to poor diet - diabetes and heart disease to name but two.
It seems we are bombarded with information, some of which seems conflicting and much of comes via commercial
vested interests, perhaps diet fads or headlines to sell a story, all of which results in great confusion.
Many of us do not make the connection between the symptoms we experience and our chosen diets. Getting it right for you as an individual can make dramatic improvements to your wellbeing and significantly improve your long term health.
We can help you to:

A careful case history, the use of a "diet diary", Applied Kinesiology and, in some cases, a whole blood analysis to quantify deficiencies, are all utilised. Lifestyle and exercise activities are also explored.
Costs:
Initial Assessment (30 minutes) £35
Functional testing and advice (up to 60 minutes) £60

Introducing Asyra Health Screening
Do you suffer from any of the following?
This section temporarily hidden whilst under reviewIf you do, we can probably help you identify and resolve the root causes of your ill health. Utilising ground breaking health screening technology we can eliminate the guesswork usually associated with complementary (and conventional!) medicine and discover both the reason you feel unwell, and the best way to treat you.
What is bio-energetic health screening?
This section temporarily hidden whilst under reviewIs it age-dependent?
Any age can be tested - from young babies to the elderly.
What happens at a screening and how does it work?
Health screening with the Asyra AT3 simply involves sitting in a chair and holding two small brass bars connected to both the equipment and a computer. The Asyra then uses a process called bio-feedback (the body's own electrical response) to test and record the body's energetic reaction to various substances. There is no waiting for results and a printed report will be given to you to take away.
Is it scientifically proven?
The original concepts of Electro Dermal Screening (EDS), which is the principle behind the Asyra AT3, were developed in the 1950s by Dr Voll. Since then, numerous technical studies, tests and research papers have been produced, verifying the effectiveness of the process. The Asyra AT3 System is also registered with the Federal Drug Administration in America, the first such system to have both its hardware and software approved, and is used by many health practitioners around the world. Details of research studies and the history of the Asyra can be found at: www.asyra.co.uk
What do the results tell me?
The results are produced immediately and are printed off for you to take away. Depending on the tests carried out, the results will give a clear indication of your state of health, including any stressed or weakened organs, any nutrient deficiencies, any hormone or neurotransmitter imbalances, any toxins present, any viral, bacterial, fungal or parasite signatures picked up, and also any food, chemical or environmental sensitivities. We will explain the results to you and the suggested treatment so that you have a clear picture of your current health status and what needs to be done to improve it.
How long does the consultation and test take?
The test itself is very quick, but we allow one hour, fifteen minutes for the entire process. This allows time for an initial consultation where a thorough case history will be taken so that you can inform us of any health problems or concerns you have. Time will also be needed after the test to interpret the results and explain the findings to you, to run any further tests if required and to discuss recommended treatment with you.
What sort of treatments are recommended?
Treatment programmes are individual to each client. These may include:
• Homeopathic Remedies
• Flower Essences
• Nutritional Supplements
• Dietary Advice
• Lifestlye Changes
• Herbal Tinctures
• Detoxification Programmes
• CranioSacral Therapy
• Referral to another practitioner if necessary
Will I need further appointments?
Follow up appointments are recommended. It is usual for patients to have a follow-up appointment a month after their first consultation to monitor progress. Thereafter it is very individual and will depend on your needs and the test findings. Most patients need between 3 - 8 appointments to achieve an optimal health level. This, of course, also depends on the seriousness of the symptoms, how long you have suffered with the condition and how you respond to treatment.
Costs:
The cost of a Comprehensive Analysis which may take 75 minutes is £75
Follow-up appointments are generally 45 minutes and cost £45.
A straightforward Food Sensitivity and Environmental Allergen Test is £35 and takes up to 30 minutes.
Prices include a personalised homeopathic balancing remedy but do not include any indicated nutritional or herbal supplements. However, if these are recommended, we can provide them for you at a discounted rate.
